Student Talk
Best part of the day so far:
1 - grade 2 girl: "Are you a teenager? 'Cause you look like a teenager."
2 - an older man in either a speedo or his skimpies racing a romote control car up and down his driveway.

Can we all just give an AMEN for warm sun today!

Grade 1
end of the day...
boy - "are you going to be here tomorrow?"
me - "I don't think so."
boy - "when will I see you next?"
me - "I'm not sure. Maybe I'll see you at the grocery store or at the library someday."
boy - "well...I have a blue jacket!"

Student Talk
Today's Kindergarten Highlights:
- Being called Ms Spyglass all day by a well meaning boy...(on the right track but not quite)
- Reminding a boy constantly to take his hands out of his pants (in a Kindy classroom ALWAYS WASH YOUR HANDS!).
- Having two students cough directly in my face (if i don't get sick, it'll be a miracle).
- A boy with his coat on upside down (arms in sleeves and all) ready to go outside.
- Same boy...brought in cupcakes for his birthday...two cupcakes were left...I asked if he wanted to give them to the two grade 7 lunch monitors in the classroom, he says "no, I think I'll take them home."
- Cupcake explosions on the floor, tables, and faces.
- "jump like a bunny to the other side" = the smoothest gym class ever.

My conversation with a grade 2 boy
student: "I know how stars are there."
me: "really, how?"
student: "the volcanoes in space explode lava into pieces that float around."

Student Talk
Scene: Guest speaker talking to the grade 3/4 class I'm subbing in about what is needed to survive on a deserted island. The kids will eventually need to make a list of important items to bring.
GS: "When you make this list, imagine you're a bit older..."
Lukas: "25."
GS: "Sure, old enough to camp on your own."
Lukas very definitively says: "oh, 45."
Wanna know what else is cute?
